MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Windows ¥ Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only), Windows Vista SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8 & 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit) MBR and UEFI *Except Windows RT* ¥ 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor ¥ Minimum 1GB of RAM (32-bit) or 2GB RAM (64-bit) ¥ 22 megabytes (MB) of free disk space for installation from the retail copy of the installation CD and download. ¥ Screen resolution 1024x768 or higher ¥ CD-ROM drive (When installing the software from a CD) ¥ Internet Access (To download and install .NET Framework 4 Full Profile) ¥ .NET Framework 4.0 Full Profile (Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 7 SP1 only) ¥ An administrator account to install and manage the software * *The BounceBack Ultimate software can be installed and managed by a non-admin account. HOW TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE From a CD (With AutoRun Enabled) 1. Insert the BounceBack installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. 2. The Windows AutoPlay window will prompt you to make a selection. Select SETUP.EXE. 3. Click Yes to the User Account Control Prompt (If UAC is enabled on your computer). From a CD (With AutoRun Disabled) 1. Insert the BounceBack installation into the CD-ROM drive. 2. Navigate to "My Computer" or "Computer". 3. Double left-click on the CD icon. 4. Double left-click on Setup.exe. 5. Click Yes to the User Account Control Prompt (If UAC is enabled on your computer). From a Download executable file 1. Locate the BounceBack Ultimate download file. 2. (Unblock the Executable - if applicable) Right-click the file and select Properties. A new window will open. Click on the Unblock button found at the bottom of the General Tab. Click OK to close the window. 3. Double left-click on the BounceBack Ultimate download file. 4. Click Yes to the User Account Control Prompt (If UAC is enabled on your computer). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IV. KNOWN ISSUES AND WORK AROUNDS ¥ This software can be installed on top of BounceBack Ultimate 11. This software will remove BounceBack Ultimate 11 from your computer prior to launching the new software installation. Older versions of BounceBack must be manually removed by the user prior to installing this new software. ¥ Both the installation CD and download file are equipped with a web installer version of the .NET Framework 4 Full Profile. You will need Internet access to use this utility. You may download the .NET Framework individually on another computer by using the link found in the SOFTWATE/PLUG-IN DOWNLOADS section. Then copy the installation file to this computer and install it before you begin installing BounceBack. ¥ The software will only work on English versions of Windows. ¥ System drives that are configured in Dynamic Disk are not supported. ¥ BounceBack Ultimate 14 will no longer use a Rescue CD or Rescue Flash Drive. Consult the Disaster Recovery Guide for BounceBack Ultimate 14 to find information on how to perform a restore. ¥ USB boot may not work on all systems. ¥ The software must be reinstalled after performing a restore ¥ The software does not support the backup of virtual machines and virtualization software. (Microsoft Virtual PC, Windows XP Mode, VMWare, and other virtualization programs) ¥ BounceBack Ultimate is not compatible with BitDefender anti-virus. BitDefender blocks the BackupServer.exe from running. ¥ BounceBack Ultimate is not compatible with Avast anti-virus. Avast will flag DevList.dll as a malicious file. The user will need to manually exclude the file within Avast and then restart the BounceBack Backup Server. ¥ BounceBack Ultimate does not offer support for performing a backup of computers configured in RAID. ¥ BounceBack Ultimate will not work with a non-admin account in Windows XP SP3 and Windows 8 & 8.1. Even when using the CMS PG Client. ¥ BounceBack Ultimate does not have support for 4k sector hard drives. ¥ Backups from network drives are not supported in BounceBack Ultimate 14.2. Only backups to network drives are supported in BounceBack Ultimate 14.2. ¥ We advise that you utilize a dedicated backup drive to perform a full system backup of your computer. All data on the selected device will be deleted by BounceBack when it preps the drive for backup. ¥ BounceBack does not support the copying of OEM Windows Recovery partitions. It is assumed that BounceBack will be utilized to restore Windows instead of using the OEM Windows Recovery partition. ¥ BounceBack is not compatible with netbooks running on eMMC storage. ¥ BounceBack is not compatible with tablets. ¥ BounceBack has a limit on the amount of partitions that are supported. A total of 8 partitions including a hidden GPT partition are supported by BounceBack. (7 partitions are identified via Disk Management and Diskpart) ¥ Full system backups to drives larger than 2TB can only be done in systems that are in UEFI and GPT mode. MBR systems using backup drives larger than 2TB can only be used for data backups.
